Simple Renter-Friendly Way to Add Charm to Your Apartment

Making your home more you isn’t always easy specially if you live in a rental. My biggest struggle has been adding rustic vintage charm to a new build apartment but I've found that the easiest way to do this is to switch out your hardware. Y’all know I’ve previously swapped out my cabinet handles for a more rustic look and now, thanks to Nostalgic Warehouse, I’ve switched out our light switch and outlet covers. This was such a simple project but it completely changed the look of our apartment!

The installation process is super simple! Just unscrew the previous cover and install the new covers with the screws provided. Each outlet and switch plate cover comes with screws in different sizes so you can be sure it'll fit properly.

I swapped out the switch + outlet covers in the more visible areas in our home including our kitchen, entryway and living room. We also recently did a bedroom makeover and the light switches match the other brass accents we have in our room perfectly!

I wanted a rustic look with a modern shape so I chose from the Nostalgic Warehouse New York collection in the Antique Brass finish. Not only do these covers add some vintage charm but they also make the builder grade sockets and switches less of an eye sore.

I always say it's the little things in life and now every time I go turn on the lights I feel so fancy! This is one of those things I had always assumed could only be done in a home you own but that was so not true! Such a simple change but it has made a world of difference and it's making me want to switch out all our outlet and switch covers!

And the best part is, when we move out of our rental, we can use these in our future home! Even if you don't live in a rental, I think this would be an amazing way to add more personality to your home and to make it look more intentional.
